Training programme on “Novel seed production techniques in field crop” conducted by PJTSU- SRTC at KVK, Malyal on 26-03-2024

Seed Research and Technology Center, Hyderabad organized training programme on ‘Novel seed production techniques in field crops’’ at KVK Malyal on 26.03.24. Dr. N. Kishore Kumar, SMS (Extension) welcome the participants for inaugural session, Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, Director, SRTC, Hyderabad participated, explained about, importance of seed in agriculture and how quality seed production can play major role in improving farmers’ net income and supply seed to other farmers in the district. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal, explained about scope of seed production in the district. In technical session, Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, Director, SRTC explained about seed production and production technologies in groundnut crop and important tips in seed production of groundnut. Dr. S. Sukumar. Senior Scientist, SRTC, explained about seed production techniques in Paddy crop, Dr. Swarnalatha, Senior Scientist, SRTC, Hyderabad explained about seed production procedures in red gram crop. Dr. S. Malathi, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Malyal explained about pest and disease management in different field crops. Later visited nearby green gram and groundnut fields. In this programme KVK Malyal Scientists and 52 farmers and FPO Members participated and shared their experiences about seed production.
