Rythu Nestam live programme conducted at Electronic Wing Studio, PJTSAU, Hyderabad on 02.04.2024 from 10.00 AM – 12.15 PM with scientist from Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), officials from department of agriculture along with farmers from 110 rythuvedika’s of Telangana . The programme started with Videos developed by Electronic Wing on Green manure Crops, Vermicopost and Crop residue management followed by Dr A. Madhavi, Principal Scientist (SSAC) & Head, Institute of Soil Health Management, PJTSAU session on “Integrated Nutrient Management” to encourage farmers about incorporation of green manure crops and organic manures to harness their benefits to optimize resource use efficiency, reduce environmental impacts, and to build resilient farming systems. Also, explained various strategies to improve nutrient use efficiency which is essential for sustainable agriculture, as it helps maximize crop yields while minimizing nutrient losses and environmental impacts. Two progressive farmers namely Sri.Korra Shankar of Khammam district and Sri D.Ramachandra Reddy from Karimnagar District shared their experiences about crop diversification during Rabi season by cultivating Pulses after Cotton and Sweet cucumber after Rice crop . Later Dr A. Madhavi, Principal Scientist (SSAC) & Head, Institute of Soil Health Management, PJTSAU clarified the farmers queries from different Rythu Vedikas of Telangana. The Ryhtu Nestam live programme was attended by Dr.M.Sreenivasulu, Coordinator and Scientists of Electronic Wing and Sri.Vijay Kumar Addl.Director , Sri.Singa Reddy DDA along with 5000 farmers and Department Officials form Agriculture and allied sectors at 110 Rythu Vedikas across the state.
