10th International Day of Yoga Celebrations at College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, PJTSAU on 21-06-2024

College of Agriculture,NSS unit, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad organized 10th International Day of Yoga celebrations at PJTSAU University Sports complex as per the directions of Goverenment of India and University on 21st June, 2024. Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. Yoga, a transformative practice, represents the harmony of mind and body, the balance between thought and action, and the unity of restraint and fulfillment. This year's theme, "Yoga for Self and Society", emphasises yoga's vital role in fostering individual well-being and social harmony. Programme started at 6.00AM. NSS unit invited Sri. Madhuhaas garu,IT Professional, Art of Living and Sri. Moolchand Sharma garu as Yoga instructors on to the dias. All the students, Staff (Teaching, Non-teaching and Outsourcing) have participated in the event. NSS programme officer welcomed the gathering and Sri. Madhuhaas garu and Sri. Moolchand Sharma garu delivered speech on “Importance of Yoga in our daily life”. The trainer explained and directed the Students, teaching and non teaching staff in performing different yoga postures and pranayamas. The programme started with warm up exercises, standing, sitting and lying down yoga poses and pranayamas. The programme was also graced by esteemed Registrar and Director of Research, Dr. P.Raghu Rami Reddy; Dr.Seema, Dean of Agriculture; Dr. J. Satyanarayana, Dean of Students Affairs; Dr. C. Narendra Reddy, Associate Dean, Dr.J.Suresh, Physical Director, Dr. P. Prashanth, Officer-in-charge Student Activities; NSS P.O’s Dr.K.Sumalini, Dr. A. Meena, Dr. K.Aruna, Dr. P. Sri Ranjitha; Dr. K.Chaitanya, NCC officer and more than 300 NSS Volunteers, teaching and nonteaching staff participated in the Yoga session and enjoyed yoga day with healthy snacks. Programme ended at 8.30 am.
