Valedictory Session of 25 Days Skill Development Training Programme on Agriculture Extension Service Provider at RARS, Jagtial on 19-07-2021

Valedictory session of 25 days Skill development training programme on “Agriculture Extension Service Provider” was organized at RARS, Jagtial on 19.07.2021. The training programme was held from 25.06.2021 to 19.07.2021. It was completed successfully. On this occasion Dr. P. Jagan Mohan Rao, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Jagtial emphasized on the opportunities that can be utilized by the rural youth in the field of agriculture and allied sector and motivated the youth to adopt the latest technologies in their farm, transfer of the skills and knowledge gained to other farmers in the village and there by contribute to the increase in agricultural productivity. As a part of training class room lectures, exposure visits, field visits and assignments were conducted. Under Exposure visits, participants were taken to successful units i.e. dairy, poultry, Integrated farming systems, vermicomposting, sericulture, farm machinery, Agrometereology unit and different technologies at research station adopted in Paddy i.e. machine transplanting and direct seeding). Participants were given hands on training on machine transplanting, soil testing, preparation of value added products i.e. pickles, jam, jelly etc. and operation of agricultural mobile applications. Practical exercises and assignments were conducted on Participatory rural appraisal technique, preparation of agricultural information material. Class room lectures were conducted on various agricultural topics i.e. INM, IPM, seed production, weed management, value addition, cultivation practices of different crops, extension teaching methods etc. Participants delivered presentations of the activities done as a part of the curriculum and expressed their feedback on the training. During the feedback participants expressed satisfaction over the training programme and found very helpful in improving their skills and knowledge base about the latest / upcoming technologies in agriculture and also developed entrepreneurial capabilities for starting of agri and allied enterprises. In this session training coordinator, Smt.P. Sadvi, trainees of “Agriculture Extension service provider” were participated.
