6th PJTSAU Foundation Day Celebrations at Agricultural College, Warangal

The 6th Foundation Day of PJTSAU was celebrated at Agricultural College, Warangal on 03.09.2020 in a befitting manner duly following the University guidelines. It was a day of zeal and enthusiasm, reflecting on the beginnings and foundation of the University. The celebrations started by inviting the dignitaries onto the dais by Dr. J. Kamalakar, Office In-charge Students activities. This was followed by lighting of the lamp. PJTSAU song was played and rich floral tributes were paid to the portrait of Professor Jayashankar by Associate Dean, Dr. T. Ramesh, Administrative Officer, Smt. Sharada Devi, senior faculty members, teaching and non-teaching staff members. Speaking on this occasion, Associate Dean spoke at length about how the institute has grown from strength to strength. He congratulated the first outgoing batch of Agricultural College, Warangal for their outstanding performance in academics. Smt. Sharada Devi, Administrative Officer, gave a motivating speech and urged all of us to persevere and work hard to achieve one’s goals. Dr. D. Kumaraswamy, Head of the Department (AECO) and Placement Cell Officer, gave a remarkable speech on placements and entrepreneurship emphasizing that agriculture is the only sector which registered a positive growth even during the global Covid-19 pandemic. Planting of saplings was taken up as a part of the celebrations. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. A. Samarpitha, Assistant professor (AECO), thanking everyone for the successful conduct of the event. The online celebrations began a day before, where an online quiz and short film competitions were conducted by the respective committees for the students and e-Certificates were provided to the prize winners. The online session began with the welcome address by the Associate Dean. The chief guest, Smt. Sreedevi Devireddy, CEO, SR Innovation Exchange, SR University, Warangal graced the occasion and delivered a lecture on the topic, “Development of Agri Entrepreneurship among Agriculture Graduates” focussing on the opportunities and challenges in the agri-entrepreneurship sector. She stressed that agriculture is the only sector which is recession-proof. She encouraged the students to become job providers rather than job seekers and thus become agripreneurs. There was an interaction cum feedback session with students chaired by Dr. A. Venkat Reddy, Professor & Head (Entomology) and OIAM presenting the achievements and future goals of the outgoing batch students. Final year OGPA Toppers, Ms. N. Sindoora, Ms. M. Sandhya and Ms. B. Bhanusree shared their thoughts on studying at Agricultural College, Warangal. Dr. D.V.V. Reddy, former DSA also spoke on the occasion and expressed his best wishes for the future of the students. The celebrations ended with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. A. Venkat Reddy who expressed his immense gratitude to everyone who directly and indirectly made the event a grand success.
