While following the instructions of state government and Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University ‘74th Independence Day’ was celebrated at Agricultural College, Aswaraopet on 15th August 2020 with about 50 staff members including Teaching, Non-Teaching, Time Scale and Out sourcing employees. Associate Dean Dr. A. Janaiah hosted the National Flag at about 9.00 AM, after garlanding to the Mahatma Gandhi. Associated Dean Dr. A. Janaiah has delivered his lecture on this occasion and stated that today Independence Day celebrations was simplest and even since India achieved Independence in 1947, in view of Covid-19 pandemic across the world. Associate Dean also recalled on this occasion, that human kind faced this kind of pandemic almost 100 years ago and posed new challenges to human life. In this context Associate Dean advised the staff to take care of them self and their family with at most preventive measures and perform their official duty at college while following the guideline of state government and university. On this occasion of 74th Independence Day a essay competition was conducted in online to the students in online on the “Swachh Bharath”. About 50 students participated in easy writing competition. Evaluation committee state Ms.K. Sowmya, CAAA-2018-062 has won first prize and Ms. G. Geetha, CAAA-2019-009 has won second prize in the competition. Similarly, a Tree plantation in their respective villages/ town was also organized through online monitoring under “Green Challenge” programme being under taken by Regional NSS office, Hyderabad. There was a proactive response from students and large number of students planted 1-2 tree plants of their choice in their respective villages.
