Agricultural College, Warangal, celebrated the 74th Independence Day on 15th August, 2020 by following safety guidelines like social distancing and wearing mask in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Dr. T. Ramesh, Associate Dean has unfurled the national flag. Later Associate Dean addressed the staff about the importance of Independence Day in every citizen's life. He also told that, this day reminds us every year that freedom is sacred and citizens must remember about the supreme sacrifice the great martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of freedom. Smt. Sharada Devi, Administrative Officer spoke about the sacrifices of the freedom fighters who lost their lives just to make their motherland free from the British empire. Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh and many more emerged as leaders to inspire everyone in the nation so that they can fight for their rights. Dr. J. Kamalakar, Officer in charge of student activities remembered the significant contributions of the freedom fighters, to make our country an independent nation. NSS volunteers along with their family members participated in this event by attending at their native places. Teaching, non-teaching and out sourcing staff participated in the celebrations. Snacks prepared by the staff taking all precautionary measures were distributed.
