94 th ICAR Foundation day celebrations on 16.07.2022 at Thudukuthy

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Palem organized 94th ICAR Foundation day celebrations on 16.07.2022 at Thudukurthy. Dr. T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator, KVK, Palem briefed about the genesis of ICAR and its pivotal role in agriculture development in our country. This is one of the largest national agricultural systems in the world with 101 ICAR institutions and 74 agricultural universities spread across the country. In India 55% of rural population depend on agriculture as their livelihood. ICAR played as great role in green revolution and subsequent developments in agriculture in India through its research and technology development. Before the foundation of ICAR, India is at begging bowl condition after establishment of ICAR the fate of Indian agriculture is changed now we are in top position in terms of production of food grains, vegetables and fruits. As a part of these celebrations Honourable central Agriculture minister, Shri. Narendra Singh Thomar has released booklet of 75000 success stories with regard to doubling of farmer’s income in agriculture and allied sectors from across the country and interacted with innovative farmers. In this program scientists of KVK, Palem, Smt. Narmada, Agriculture officer, MMP of Nagarkurnool, Gram sarparnch, Agricultural Extension officer and 92 farmers were participated.
