Programme Director, Atal Community Innovation Centers (ACIC) visit to Agriculture College, Jagtial on 20 September 2022

Mr. Manglesh Yadav, Programme Director, Atal Community Innovation Centers (ACIC), NITI Aayog, New Delhi, Government of India and Mr. N. Vijay, Chief Executive Officer, AgHub, PJTSAU visited Agricultural College, Jagtial on 20-09-2022 to examine suitable place for establishing an Incubation center under Atal Community Innovation Centre programme in the College. Dr. S. Narender Reddy, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Jagtial and Dr. M. Uma Devi, Associate Director of Research, RARS, Jagtial have explained about the availability of space for establishing the Incubation center. In the interaction meeting with staff and students, Mr. Manglesh Yadav has brought awareness on the objectives and focal areas of Atal Community Innovation Centers (ACIC). He further, encouraged the spirit of entrepreneurship among the students and motivated them to move towards entrepreneurship as a career option to be job givers rather than job seekers. Mr. N. Vijay addressed the gathering with the achievements of AgHub during past year and explained about their strategies in creating suitable platforms for the young entrepreneurs and their linkages with well renowned venture capitalists. Dr. S. Narender Reddy briefed about the history and significant achievements of the College for the past 14 years. He encouraged the students to learn new skills and be updated with the latest innovative technologies and business modules, which encourages them to be self-dependent. He also said that the faculty should write projects linking entrepreneurship as one of the objective to provide an opportunity to the students as well as the rural youth & women in nearby villages. Dr. M. Uma Devi encouraged the students to always be innovative in doing the things and change their mindset in shaping their future. She also encouraged the faculty to train the students to imbibe the culture of being an entrepreneur. As a part of interaction, students and staff interacted with the team where many queries were resolved and further the team suggested to motivate the students in line of entrepreneurship. Further, the team visited the laboratories of the College and RARS, Sesame extraction unit, College & RARS farm, AELP instructional units and construction site of Rice and Mango Processing center. Later, they visited an Integrated Farming System model of Mr. Malla Reddy, farmer at Laxmipur village.
