Annual College Day celebrations held at Agricultural College, Warangal on 23-02-2019

Third annual college day function of Agricultural College, Warangal was celebrated on 23rd February, 2019. The Hon`ble Vice-Chancellor of Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University, Dr. B. Karunakar Reddy attended the function as the chief guest and Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Warangal presided over the function. The program started with welcoming of the guests by Smt. M. Harika, Asst. Professor (Horticulture), lightening of the lamp followed by play of University song. For the first time, Agricultural College, Warangal came up with eco-friendly (Paperless) digital copy of College Magazine with the name “KAKATIYA – 2019”. The Chief guest and President of the function have released the magazine. Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Associate Dean presented a brief report of the college where in he emphasized the importance given by the university to Agricultural College, Warangal by allotting budget for construction of additional classrooms, new hostel buildings and developing facilities. He also informed about the success of the students of this college who excelled in sports, games and co-curricular activities at inter-collegiate and inter-university meets.

Dr. B. Karunakar Reddy, Hon`ble Vice-Chancellor, Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University, gave brief remarks of his personal life. Though hailing from a hamlet village how he worked hard to raise to these heights. He said Agriculture is also equally important as compared to medicine and called the agriculture students, the green warriors of the country. He informed about the health university scenario, their success in digitalization of exam papers evaluation managed only by 5 people. He inspired and motivated the students to work hard to achieve their goals. He also encouraged the students to prepare for prestigious civil services examinations and other competitive exams from under-graduate level.

After the delivery of remarks by esteemed dignitaries, prize distribution was done to the students who have participated and won in various sports, games and cultural events conducted as a part of Annual College Day celebrations. Associate Dean along with senior faculty members felicitated the Chief guest. Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy was felicitated by the teaching faculty of this college, as a token gratitude to him as he was shortly leaving this college after a successful 2.5 years of service as Associate Dean. Dr. A. Venkat Reddy, Professor (Entomology) read out academic profile & significant achievements of Associate Dean. A dinner was served to all the students and staff followed by cultural events by the students. Many students actively participated in the cultural events such as singing, dancing and skits etc. Finally a formal vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. B. Vidyadhar, Professor (Genetics & Plant Breeding). Overall that was a fantastic beginning and a happy ending. All the girl students were safely sent to their hostels under the supervision of the wardens. Transport facility was provided to the boys to ensure their safety.
