FIELD DAY ON “METHOD DEMONSTRATION ON DRUM SEEDING AND BROADCASTING IN RICE “ AT RARS,JAGTIAL ON 04-05-2020

Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial organized field day on demonstration on broadcasting and drum seeding of rice cultivation practices by Dr. P. Revathi, Scientist (Agronomy). Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial, has participated in the programme and he distributed masks to the farmers and created awareness on Covid-19 virus and its importance. He explained the farmers about the broadcasting and drum seeding paddy cultivation practices. He further said that by maintaining perfect land levelling, direct wet seeding would be the better than drum seeding. Later Dr.P.Revathi spoke about the good initiative taken by RARS, Polasa for adopting the different cultivation practices for creating awareness on different cultivation practices in programme. She briefed about the cultivation practices adopted and yield recorded in drum seeding 57-61 q ha-1 and in broad casting seeds 52-55q ha-1 during Yasangi-2020. Later Dr.B.Srinivas, Scientist (Plant Breeding) interacted with the farmers about the minikits of rice. In this programme, Upa serpanch and other farmers from Gullapeta, Thakkalapally, Gutrajpally, Jabithapur ten farmers are participated in the meeting and expressed leveling and weed problem. Cleared their doubts and concluded with broadcasting method of cultivation in puddle soil.
