Vth Telangana State formation day (02-06-2019) Celebration at PJTSAU, Hyderabad

Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) has celebrated the Telangana State Formation Day on 02-06-2019 at its Campus in Rajendranagar. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of PJTSAU Dr. V. Praveen Rao has unfurled the National Flag near Administrative Office. Earlier, Dr Rao , Registrar Dr. S. Sudheer Kumar and University Officers of the PJTSAU had paid floral tributes at the statue of the Professor Jayashankar near the inner gate of the University. While speaking on this occasion Dr.V. Praveen Rao has stated that, after the formation of Telangana State, University has strived hard to increase production and productivity of the rice crop in the State. Further he told that University has released RNR 15408 and several other varieties were highly accepted by the Farmers of Telangana State as well as Karnataka farmers. He urged the faculty and scientists to work hard to achieve highest rank in the country among Agricultural Universities. He also suggested the Faculty and Scientists of PJTSAU, there is a need to improve the publications of research articles in highest rated journals, and produce more number of Senior Research Fellowships & Junior Research Fellowships and also encourage the students to write ARS exam and other competitive exams at national level. VC explained how Telangana State achieved the productivity and production of food grains in the State and University efforts behind this. He told that, in 2014 the food grain production was 56 lakh metric tons and now it has been increased to nearly 100 lakh metric tons. With the new Agricultural initiatives of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri.K. Chandrashekar Rao, Telangana has become role model to the entire country he said. Dr.V. Praveen Rao also stated the University efforts in the preparation of food consumption report of TS, and delineation of crop colonies in the state. He said, there will be a huge demand for Agricultural graduates in the area of food processing in public and private sector. He suggested the faculty to inculcate the required skills among the Agricultural graduates. He says that, there is need to be a collective effort to achieve highest position among the Agricultural Universities in the Country. Board member of PJTSAU Dr. Umadevi, University Officers, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff, Contract & Outsourcing Employees, Students were participated in large number.
