KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial conducted KRISHI KALYAN ABHIYAN III at Shivnoor (V) of Jainoor (M) of KB – Asifabad Aspirational District

Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Bellampalli, Mancherial conducted Krishi Kalyan Abhiyan -III programme in the Shivnoor village of Jainoor Mandal, of Komurum Bheem Asifabad (Aspirational district of KVK, Bellampalli, Mancherial) on 05.08.2020 and conducted training programmes on “ Importance of Kitchen gardening and Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) in major cultivating crops of the village. Dr. M. Rajeshwar Naik, Programme Coordinator, KVK Bellampalli, Mancherial addressed the farmers on importance of kitchen gardening and nutritional values contains in each vegetable and it benefits to the human health. Vegetable cultivation in the backyard of the house doesn’t require much irrigation, save the household expenditure and also add to healthy diet. Further, he added that, timely application of recommended dose of fertilizers to the major crops like Cotton, Redgram and rice will reduce the pest incidence and ultimately increase the farmer’s income. And also he suggested following three times stem application in Cotton with long stick brush at 20 days, 40 days and 60 days intervals will reduce the harmful effects of sprayings and stated that, stem application is environment and farmer friendly. Later, conducted diagnostic field visit to Cotton + Redgram intercropped field along with Department of Agriculture staff. Recommended the precautionary measures accordingly. For this meeting, Dr. Shivakrishna Kota, SMS (Extension), Smt U. Sravanthi, SMS (Horticulture), Sri. Pavan, MAO, Smt Rathod Chandrakala, Sarpanch and Smt Sankeerthana, AEO and 30 number of tribal farmers and farm women were attended.
