KVK, Palem diagnostic field visit on 11-11-2021

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Palem scientists conducted diagnostic filed visit to Guava, Paddy and Blackgram crops in Gudlanarva and Karkonda villages of Bijinepally mandal. Observed the webbed flowers & rotten, fallen fruits in Guava (Variety is Allahabad safeda, Taiwan Guava), Paddy (Chitti muthyalu) crop is healthy without any pest & disease incidence. In blackgram (T-9 variety) scrapping of leaves and irregular holes on leaves. Due to the congenial weather conditions like cloudy weather the incidence of fruit fly and Tobacco caterpillars was observed above ETL. The following management methods were suggested to the farmers. In guava: To reduce the damage of fruit fly recommended installation of fruit fly traps @ 10/acre. Suggested locally making of traps by using rotten banana fruits+ Toddy+ Malathion. After that recommended spraying with Malathion @ 2ml+ Azadiractin 1500ppm @ 5ml/L of water. Blackgram: For getting of more flowering recommended spraying with Multi-K @ 10g/L of water. To reduce the incidence of tobacco caterpillars suggested installation of Pheromone traps @ 4/acre, need based spraying with Chlorantranoliprole @ 0.3ml/L of water. In this visit Dr. T.
