KVK, Palem: Diagnostic field visit to Paddy fields on 07-09-2020

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Palem scientists conducted diagnostic filed visit to Paddy fields in Khanapur, Palem and Nandivaddeman villages of Bijinepally mandal. Right now the crop is at active tillering stage (45 DAT). Most of the places where newly converted to rice fields observed Zinc deficiency recommended spraying with Zinc sulphate @ 2.0 g/L of water. In Nandivaddeman village observed the incidence of Hispa insects however the incidence is below ETL. The incidence of Bacterial Leaf Blight and Brown Plant Hoppers were not observed. Farmers are realized the importance of alley ways, alternate wetting drying method of irrigation and judicious usage of nitrogenous fertilizers for the control of BPH. Nearly, 70 per cent of the farmers adopting these technologies.
