KVK, Palem organized training programme on IPM in Pulses on 01-10-2020

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Palem has been organized training cum awareness programme on Integrated Pest Management in Pulses at seminar hall of KVK on 01.10.2020. In this progarmme Dr. T. Prabhakhar Reddy (PC) briefed about the best management practices and importance of pest management aspects for getting of higher returns with low cost IPM inputs. Mr. M. Rajashekhar (SMS-PP) explained about the installation of Pheromone traps @ 5/acre for monitoring the incidence of pests and erecting of bird perches @ 20/acre. Right now Redgram crop is at vegetative to flowering stage at this stage incidence of Leaf Webber and Spotted pod borer is most common. For the management of these two pests initial spray with Azadiractin 1500 ppm @ 5ml/lt of water will deter the egg laying of Maruca vitrata and reduce the hatching of the eggs. In this programme a total of 33 farmers from Bijinepally and Thimajipeta mandal were participated.
