KVK, Palem Organized Parthenium Weed Removal Programme on 17-08-2020

ICAR-Directorate of Weed Research is observing 'Parthenium Awareness Week" during 16-22 August of every year to make farmers and general public aware about the menace of Parthenium, which is responsible for causing health problems in human beings and animals, besides deteriorating environment, loss of productivity and biodiversity. As a part of Parthenium Awareness Week, KVK, Palem initiated a Parthenium weed removal programme on 17.08.2020 at KVK premises and also planned to organize activities like Parthenium uprooting, spraying herbicides, demonstrations, etc. to educate the farmers and general public about the harmful effects of Parthenium and ways of its management. All the technical & supporting staff & Contractual workers are participated in clearing of Parthenium weeds at the KVK premises.
