A team of 30 officials of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) of Telangana led by its Chief General Manager (CGM) Sri Vijay Kumar accompanied with Dist. Development Managers (DDM’s) of the state visited Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agril. University on 19-2-2019 as a exposure visit and to have formal collaboration between the two organization in the areas of research and capacity building. The delegation was received at the conference room of central library of PJTSAU.
The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor and University Officers participated in the initial interaction meeting with the visiting delegation. At the outset Hon’ble V.C. explained the mandate of the university along with activities and reforms under taking under each mandate and service rendering to the society by the university. Then the CGM sought collaboration with the university in the areas of climate proofing, efficient cropping patterns and IFS model and further emphasized to include a chapter/ course on activities of NABARD in the curriculum. Hon’ble V.C. has responded by saying that the university is in the process of introducing a course on Agril. Entrepreneurship and Management and further assured that the university is ready to involve the NABARD in the areas of collaborative research, impact assessment studies and technical backstopping to the staff and farmers of Telangana.
The delegation led by CGM visited the following research units functioning at Rajendranagar campus and interacted with the scientists.
Finally in the wrap up session held at Hon.V.C office, it was resolved that both the institutes (PJTSAU & NABARD) will enter into MoU very soon for under taking collaborative research activities in the areas of climate proofing, impact assessment and capacity building in the state of Telangana.
