RAWEP Students of Agricultural College, Palem Organised Agricultural Exhibition and Rythu Sadassu on 21-10-2019

Final year RAWEP students of Agricultural College, Palem, in collaboration with DAATTC and ATMA, Vikarabad has organized a “Rythu Sadassu” at Chityal Village, Parigi Mandal, Vikarabad district on 21-10-2019. Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Palem Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy inaugurated the farmers exhibition and visited the exhibited models prepared by the students and appreciated their efforts. More than 50 primary school students and 70 farmers have utilized the opportunity and visited all the exhibit models. Along with Associate Dean, Agricultural College, Palem, Dr. N. Praveen Kumar, Coordinator DAATTC Vikarabad, Dr. J. S. Sudharani, Scientist (Crop Production) DAATTC Vikarabad, M. Veerappa, ADA, Parigi, B. Rajitha, Sarpanch of Chityal Village & Principal representative for RAWEP Mr. E. Sathyanarayana participated in the programme. Dr. J. S. Sudharani, Scientist, Crop production DAATTC Vikarabad briefed the gathering about the programme. She mentioned about the current growth stages of different crops in the Chityal village and appreciated the students for their activities at different villages. Later, farmers requested recommendation for several pest problems in different crops like Rice, Cotton and Maize. Then, Associate Dean, Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy thoroughly explained about the nutrient management practices to be followed in cotton and also explained the importance of refugia in Bt Cotton to control the Pink Boll Worm Infestation. He urged the farmers to reduce the over usage of complex fertilizers and pesticides in the crops. Then, he informed about the strategies to be taken for the control of pink boll worm in cotton. With considering the present status of soils he said that all the farmers should focus on organic farming so as to get healthy yields. He also congratulated the students of Agricultural College, Palem for their efforts to organize this Rythu Sadassu programme. Dr. N. Praveen Kumar, Coordinator DAATTC Vikarabad suggested the farmers to cultivate the green gram and black gram instead of maize crop and M. Veerappa, ADA, Parigi informed regarding the benefits of “Rythu Bandhu” & “Rythu Bheema” and suggested all the farmers to register their names in the portal for getting benefits for their well-being. During the programme host farmers Sri. Sreedeep Reddy, Sri. Venkat Reddy and Sri. Krishnaiah shared their views and appreciated the RAWEP students for their help. At last Dr. J. S. Sudharani, Scientist (Crop Production) DAATTC Vikarabad thanked all the farmers for their constant support and effort in making Rythu Sadassu a tremendous success at Chityal village.
