Final year RAWEP students of Agricultural College, Palem, in collaboration with DAATTC, Mahabubnagar have organized a “Rythu Sadassu” at Parvatapur village, Khilla Ghanpur Mandal, Wanaparthy district on 07-03-2020. Associate Dean, Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy along with Dr. A. Ramakrishna Babu, Co-ordinator DAATTC, Mahabubnagar, Sudhakar Reddy, District Agriculture Officer, Dr. K. Rajamani, Scientist, Principal representative for RAWEP Smt. K. Sadhana,Raghu Ram, Agriculture Officer, Saamya Nayak, ZPTC, Khilla Ghanpur, Krishna Nayak, MPP, Khilla Ghanpur , Smt. Nirmala Sudharshan, Village Sarpanch other elected representatives and AEOs have participated in the programme. Associate Dean, Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy along with DAO, Sudhakar Reddy inaugurated the farmers exhibition and visited the exhibited models prepared by the students and appreciated their efforts. More than 80 farmers have utilized the opportunity and visited all the exhibit models. Dr. A. Ramakrishna Babu briefed the gathering about the programme and explained about the current growth stages of various crops in the district. With considering the present status of soils, He also said that all the farmers should focus on organic farming so as to get healthy yields. Later, Associate Dean, Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy explained about the current crop scenario and increase in area of paddy in the district. He urged the farmers to utilize the water wisely and to follow in-situ water harvesting structures in their fields. He also requested the farmers to reduce the over usage of complex fertilizers and pesticides in the crops and stressed the importance of integrated nutrient management practices especially about the importance of green manuring in rice. He also congratulated the students of Agricultural College, Palem for their efforts to organize this Rythu Sadassu programme. Sudhakar Reddy, DAO urged the farmers to take advise from the technical experts or department officials rather than contacting pesticide or fertilizer dealers. He also informed regarding the benefits of “Rythu Bandhu” & “Rythu Bheema” and suggested all the farmers to register their names in the portal for getting benefits for their well-being. At last Smt. K. Sadhana thanked all the farmers for their constant support and effort in making Rythu Sadassu a tremendous success at parvatapur village.
