ADR, and KVK, Wyra team visit to flood Affected fields at Kusumanchi mandal, Khammam dist on 11-09-2024

On 11.09.2024 Dr. K. Ravi Kumar, Programme Coordinator (FAC), KVK, Wyra and Dr. V. Chaitanya, SMS (Horticulture), Smt PSM Phanisri SMS (Agriculture Extension) visited flood affected fields of Kusumanchi mandal along with Dr. R. Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, Central Telangana Zone, RARS, Warangal and Department officials Sri Pullaiah, DAO, Khammam, Smt Vani, MAO, Kusumanchi, Sri. Ravinder, AEO, Thallampadu, Sri Ravi Teja, AEO Palair and Smt Ch.Sowmya, AEO, Nayakangudem in Paddy, Cotton and chilli crops at Munigepalli, Keshavapuram, Naan Thanda, Narasimhulagudem, Eshwara madharam, Rajupet, Palair villages of Kusumanchi (Mandal), Khammam (Dist). In paddy and cotton fields were damaged due to sand casting, submergence and chilli sand casting and snail problem were noticed. Scientists interacted with farmers on present situation and suggested ameliorating measures for submerged paddy and cotton fields and also suggested control measures for bacterial leaf blight and stem rot in paddy, flower drop in cotton and snail damage control in chilli. The fields under few areas like Eesawaramadharam, Nanthanda, Narsimhulagudem and Palair region observed severe sand casting. Also participated in visit of Central Team to flood affected fields in Kusumanchi.
