Agricultural Education Day” celebrated at College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar on 3-12-2024

Agricultural Education Day was organised by the College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar to commemorate the birth anniversary of first President of Independent India and Union Minister of Agriculture, Bharat Ratna, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, on 3rd Decmber,2024. Dr. P. Raghurami Reddy, Director of Research and Dean PG Studies was the chief guest of the programme while Shivaji, the Registrar, PJTSAU was the guest of honour. The chief guest has inaugurated the exhibition stalls prepared by the PG and PhD research scholars of respective departments of the College. The stalls were prepared to expose the school going students to various facets of agriculture and inspire them and attract towards agriculture, so that they develop interest in agriculture and allied subjects, choose professional career after schooling in some of these courses, engage themselves in agriculture and related activities in future. On the occasion, elocution and painting competitions were conducted to the school children related to agriculture and winners were given merit certificates. The exhibition was coordinated under the supervision of the Associate Dean, Dr. C. Narendra Reddy and OISA Dr P. Prashanth. All the departmental heads, faculty, research scholars have participated in the event. About 2074 school children from 27 schools of the city have participated in the Agricultural Education Day programme and visited the stalls and enquired about various aspects of agriculture. A filed visit was also arranged to the school children for exposure to various crops grown in the farm and were explained about various aspects of agriculture. All the department heads, faculty, PG and PhD research scholars were present on the occasion.
