Minister of Agriculture, Telangana Shri Tummala Nageswara Rao gaaru, Vice President of Planning Committee Board, Telangana Dr. G. Chinnareddy gaaru and Director of Agriculture, Telangana Dr. B. Gopi gaaru attended “Rythu Nestham” program on 12-3-2024 at Electronic Wing, Prof. Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), Rajendranagr, Hyderabad. In this program, the Minister of Agriculture, Telangana Shri Tummala Nageswara Rao gaaru explained in detail about the “Rythu Nestham” program and its activities. Further stated that this program will be organized in rythuvedika’s every Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:30 AM and scientists will clarify the farmer’s queries. The Vice Chairmen of Planning Committee Board, Telangana Dr. G. Chinnareddy gaaru suggested, that the research results should be provided to the farmers through this program to combat weather based abnormalities. Later, Director of Agriculture, Telangana Dr. B. Gopi gaaru requested farmers to report their agriculture related problems to the agricultural extension officers, based on which scientists will provide appropriate suggestions during the “Rythu Nestham” program. Fruit Research Center Senior Scientist Dr.V.Suchitra explained the preventive measures to be taken against the fruit dropping in mango, and also clarified the farmer’s queries. Later Dr. G. Srinivas, Associate Director of Research, Northern Telangana Zone, PJTSAU explained the problems associated with high temperatures in summer crops and suggested the management measures to be taken to prevent disruption of crop yields. Lastly, Dr. Ch. Pragathi Kumari, Senior Scientist, AICRP on Integrated Farming Systems, PJTSAU explained the importance of organic farming to impart quality. In this “Rythu Nestham” program, Registrar Dr. M. Venkata Ramana, Director of Research Dr. P. Raghu Rami Reddy, Direcor of Extension Dr.V.Sudharani, Co-ordinator of Electronic Wing Dr.M. Sreenivasulu attended along with farmers and officials from department of agriculture and allied departments through video conference which established in110 Rythu Vedikas across the districts.
