As part of Vana Mahotsav, 2024 programme, the college organized plantation activity in non-arable areas to increase green cover. The planting of saplings was taken up by teaching, non-teaching, and outsourcing staff on 07.08.2024 at Rajanna Boys hostel, BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla Rajanna Sircilla District. The objective of the Vana Mahotsav programme is to promote the conservation and increase the green cover, and to create awareness about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance and ensuring environmental stability. Nearly 60 saplings belongs to various species such as Neem, Amla, Jackfruit, Jamun, Thani and Rosewood were used as block plantation in the non-arable land. These species have multiple purposes like shading and economic importance. Dr. G. Sridevi, Associate Dean, BJR Agricultural College, Sircilla planted saplings and reiterated the importance of nature conservation and protection. All the faculty, Non-teaching staff and out sourced personnel actively involved in this programme and taken a pledge to protect planted saplings.
