Agricultural College, Warangal, PJTSAU conducted demonstration on use of cono weeder in drum seeded paddy on 25-09-2021
Village adoption team of Agricultural College Warangal, PJTSAU conducted demonstration on use of cono weeder in wet direct seeded (drum seeder) paddy field of Sri. P.Srinivas Reddy. Weed management is the major issue in direct seeded rice. With running of cono weeder in drum seeded plots, effective weed management can be achieved with minimum labour involvement. In addition to this use of cono weeder causes pruning of paddy root tips, which makes paddy root system strong. Weeds buried with cono weeder adds green matter to the field. All these advantages with cono weeder were discussed and created awareness among farmers. Dr. G. Santosh Kumar, Dr.G.Swathi and Smt. CH. Yashaswini and ten farmers have participated in the programme.
