Agricultural College, Warangal, PJTAU conducted method demonstration on installation of traps at adopted village, Kothapeta on 11-10-2024

Village adoption team of Agricultural College Warangal, PJTAU visited cotton and tomato fields in the Kothapeta village on 11.10.2024. Method demonstration was conducted on installation of pheromone traps @ 4/acre in cotton field of Sri. Thirupathi Reddy, farmer for monitoring of pink bollworm. If each trap catch is more than 7 or 8 adult moths for three consecutive days or 10 % rosette flowers are found suggested farmers to spray neem seed kernel extract (1500 ppm) @ 5 ml or quinalphos @ 2 ml or thiodicarb @ 1.5 g or profenophos @ 2 ml or emamectin benzoate @ 0.5g/lit or cypermethrin @ 1 ml or lambda cyhalothrin @ 1 ml per litre of water. Installed yellow sticky traps in cotton and tomato crops for whitefly control. Suggested farmers to spray neem seed kernel extract (1500 ppm) 5 ml or Fipronil @ 2ml or acephate @1.5 g Acetamiprid @ 0.2g or imidacloprid @ 0.25 ml or Diafenthiuron @ 1.25 g or thiamethoxam @ 0.2 g per litre of water for sucking pests control.
