Inauguration of AgHub at PJTSAU, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad on 30-08-2021

The IT & Industries Minister, Govt. of Telangana, K.T. Ramarao, Minister for Agriculture, Co-operation and Marketing, S. Niranjan Reddy, Minister for Education, P. Sabitha Indra Reddy had inaugurated the newly constructed AgHub, Agri Innovation facility along with NABARD Chairman Dr Govindarajulu chintala, at Professor Jyashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU) on 30.08.2021. The facility has established with the financial support of NABARD.

Dr V Praveen Rao, Vice Chancellor, PJTSAU had delivered the welcome address, and explained about the AgHub activities and future plans.

G Ranjith Reddy, Member of Parliament, Chevella has spoke on the occasion and he was suggested the university to give thrust to Research & Development for developing of new technologies. AgHub Must focused work on Innovation , Incubation & Implementation he said.

Dr. Govindarajulu Chintala, Chairman, NABARD, had wished the AgHub, Agri Innovation Hub in PJTSAU should become the role model to the entire country and world. He opined that, India needs the innovations in agriculture. He said that, NABARD has funded the 7 such incubation centers in the country he wished the Ag Hub should flourished and become model to other AgHub’s and incubation centres in the country. Dr Govindarajulu, suggested the university to work on Integrated Farming Systems for ensuring of agriculture more profitable and doubling of farmers income. IFS may ensured 3 to 4 percent additional income to farmers he added. Farmers would be befitted more if technology and research is focused at farmer centric. Due to pandemic people’s food habits have been changed enormously, according their food requirements new varieties have to be developed in various crops he said.

While speaking on this occasion KT Ramarao, IT & Industries, Municipal Administration Minister, Govt. of Telangana has said that, in the history of independent India, no other state in the country had implemented these many farmers & agricultural welfare programs like Telangana govt. under the leadership of the CM KCR. with the efforts of CM KCR telangana has become the granary of country this was endorsed by FCI he said. by constructing of several lift irrigation projects like seetharama, palamuru, rangareddy, kaleswaram projects telangana govt has planned to utilise every drop of water for agriculture purpose. years back there was a challenge of ensuring food security to the growing population in the country. but, in the changed scenario, now it reversed and becomes nutritional security is the major challenge before all of us he added. telangana govt has focused on 3 aspects such as production, productivity and profitability for ensuring of doubling of farmers income. with our efforts telangana has steped up in to 2nd green revolution and blue revolution he said. KTR suggested the VC PJTSAU, this newly inaugurated Ag Hub should be made available to the even common farmers who have innovative ideas in agriculture. and also suggested that, university has to encourage the farmers for taken up the crop diversification in large scale. further, he stated that, research activities shall be more intensified based on location specific he said.

S Niranjan reddy, agriculture minister has delivered the chief guest address. he says that, telangana over comes the punjab in paddy production by increasing of irrigation facility in last 7 years. there is a need to establish more agro industries for making agriculture is more prifitable. telangana is suitable for all kinds crops, so that there is need encourage the farmers for growing of other crops in the state. he urged the university to takenup more research programs on using of emerging technologies in agriculture. he also urged the farmers come out from the traditional agricultural practices to modern farming technologies. he was appreciated the university for striving hard to develop new varities and technologies under vc praveenrao. govt is firm to give more funds to research activities in the university. in line of that govt. has sanctioned 100crores for research activities in the university he said. later, publications Ag Hub activities, statup companies were released. dr. kalpana shastry, MD, Ag Hub, proposed the vote of thanks.
