KVK, Palem organized field day on Alternate Wetting and Drying in Paddy at Khanapur village on 10.11.2020. Dr.T. Prabhakar Reddy, Programme Coordinator has brifed about the advantages of AWD method which can save water by about 38% and water productivity by 16.9% compared with continuously flood irrigation. AWD can reduce the cost of irrigation by reducing pumping costs and fuel consumption. K. Ramakrishna, SMS Crop Production has explained about the technology of alternate wetting and drying in pertains to the right time, quantity, method of each irrigation interval, complimentary affects on yield, pest, disease and cost of cultivation when compare to conventional method of irrigation. Total 20 farmers were attended the programme.
