As per the directions of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Anti-Ragging Day was organized on 12-8-2024 at College auditorium, Agricultural College, Jagtial. The event was held in the presence of several distinguished guests, including Sri. Ashok Kumar, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Jagtial; Dr. Bharathi Narayan Bahat, Associate Dean; Dr. G. Sreenivas, ADR, RARS, Jagtial; Raghu Chander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Jagtial; Krishna Reddy, Inspector, Jagtial Rural; and Sadakar, Sub-Inspector (SI), Jagtial Rural along with teaching and non-teaching staff and students have attended the meeting. Sri. Ashok Kumar, IPS created awareness about anti-ragging among the staff and students. He shared personal experiences, showed impactful videos and case studies, and explained the severe punishments associated with ragging. His comprehensive presentation aimed to educate and sensitize everyone about the importance of maintaining a ragging-free environment. Following the awareness session, prizes were distributed to students who excelled in the slogan and poster-making competitions conducted as part of the Anti-Ragging Week activities. These competitions were centered around the theme of anti-ragging, encouraging students to express their views creatively and contribute to the cause. The event was a significant step towards fostering a safe and inclusive atmosphere on campus, reinforcing the institution's commitment to eradicating ragging in all forms.
