Agricultural Research station and DAATTC Karimnagar organised Awareness and training programme on Entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors, paddy planting methods and speciality corns cultivation at Adopted village Perkapally on 26th November, 2021

An Awareness and training programme on Entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors, paddy planting methods and speciality corns cultivation was organised by Agricultural Research station and DAATTC Karimnagar at Adopted village Perkapally on 26th November, 2021 as a part of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. Dr.K. Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist (TOT) of DAATTC, Karimnagar has emphasised on the need for youth to grab the entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture and allied sectors and also stressed that the farmers should act in an integrated manner to overcome the problems during diversified cropping patterns and crop management. Dr. G. Usharani Scientist (Pl.Br.) and adopted village incharge detailed the speciality corns cultivation as a part of crop diversification. The modified mat nursery for machine transplanting of paddy for 5 acres was demonstrated in the farmer Sri Lakkarsu Buchaiah field and various paddy planting methods - broadcasting, drum seeding and machine transplanting were explained and added to go towards mechanization wherever feasible. Also field diagnostic visits were taken up in cotton, maize, groundnut, chilli and 10 acres of safflower ISF - 764 procured from ARS Tandur sown in heavy black soils of Sri Anjaneyulu was in good condition and need based suggestions were given to the farmers. The village Sarpanch, AEO Sri Katamraju and around 50 farmers participated in the programme following Covid guidelines.
