Exposure Visit to Kisam Mela, 2022 held at Regional Agricultural Research Station, Jagtial, and Farmer Scientist Interaction Meet was organized for adopted village farmers of Nagulamallial Village of Kothapally Mandal of Karimnagar District on November 17th, 2022. The Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head, Dr.G.Manjulatha briefed the various crop diversification patterns rather than confining for paddy cultivation continuously and detailed the good agricultural practices in ID CROPS like sunflower, safflower, mustard, bengalgram, etc. As a part of the Kisan Mela, 2022, the Director of Research Sri. R. Jagadeshwar has emphasized the farmers to implement the recent technologies developed by the scientists of the University and also informed the scientists to validate the results produced by some of the farmers for further implementation on large scale. The Director of Extension, Dr. V. Sudha Rani has appreciated the efforts of progressive farmers and encouraged the other farmers to include other livelihoods like poultry, goat rearing, sheep rearing, dairy, etc and also to utilize the scientific community for further improvement in their farming activities. The adopted village farmer Sri Naini Sumanth has received the Best Progressive Farmer Award for for Karimnagar District of the Northern Telangana Zone for his interest in cultivating commercial crops like turmeric and also being at forefront in adopting recent technologies and also cultivating the latest varieties and hybrids released by the University. The farmers have visited the demonstration plots of Regional Agricultural Research Station, Jagtial and also visited the stalls of PJTSAU, various private companies and Seed Companies and gained wide knowledge on the agricultural inputs, farm implements, etc. The Scientists from Agricultural Research Station Karimnagar, Dr. A.Vijayabhaskar, Senior Scientist (Path), Dr. G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br.), Dr. P.Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.), Dr.D.Sravani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) and from DAATTC Centre, Karimnagar Dr. K.Madan Mohan Reddy Coordinator and Dr. M. Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop Protection), Village Sarpanch, Sri Naini Prasad, Ward Members Sri. Ullandula Anil, Sri. Kola Sampath, Sri. Kunta Anjaiah, Gram Panchayat Cooption Member Sri. Naini Shankar, Rythu Samanvaya Samithi Convenor Sri. Godhala Chandraiah and around 50 farmers have participated in the programme.
