ARS-DAATTC, Karimnagar organized Vanakalam Preparedness meeting at Baddipalli Village of Kothapally Mandal in Karimnagar District on 24-06-2022

Awareness programme on Vanakalam Preparedness was organized by ARS-DAATTC, Karimnagar at Baddipalli Village of Kothapally Mandal in Karimnagar District. The Mandal Agricultural Officer Sri. Ranjith welcomed all the dignitaries on to the dias. The Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head, Dr. G.Manjulatha sensitized the farmers towards crop diversification and crop rotation and encouraged the farmers to go for other crops rather than only going for paddy and also detailed on the package of practices to be taken up during High Density Planting in Cotton. Dr.P.Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.) explained the different methods of paddy cultivation. Most of the farmers are not following the broadcasting and drum seeder methods for paddy cultivation and thus were enlightened to follow those methods along with machine transplantion. Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) addressed the gathering on maize and speciality corns cultivation and encouraged the farmers to cultivate at least a little part of their land with sweet corn, pop corn, baby corn, etc. which could serve their household. Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy discussed on Role of ICT tools and Mobile Apps and practically installed the apps in the farmers’ mobiles and made them understand the operating procedures. The maize minikit of Maize Research Centre, Rajendranagar, DHM-182 with the check DHM-121 for 1 acre was given to the farmer Sri. Uppu Shekar and was suggested to follow the recommended package of practices. The Mandal Agricultural Officer Sri. Ranjith, Agricultural Extension Officer, Sri. Lalitha, Village Sarpanch Sri. Madhu, village representatives and around 50 farmers participated in the programme.
