ARS and DAATTC Karimnagar organised an awareness programme on World Water Day at Adopted Village Perkapally on 22-03-2021

An awareness programme on improved water management technologies in field crops was organised at Adopted Village Perkapally of Saidapur mandal of Karimnagar district on the eve of World Water Day on 22nd March 2021 by Agricultural Research Station and DAATTC, Karimnagar. Dr. G. Usharani Scientist (Pl.Br.) briefed on the theme of value of water and Sri K. Shekar detailed the water management technologies in paddy and sensitised the farmers to implement alternate wetting and drying method for conserving water. Dr.E.Rajanikanth Scientist (Agro.) discussed about the water management technologies in other crops. All the queries pertaining to the standing crops in the village were put forth and interacted with the Scientists. The best farmer in the village who has been involved in water conservation technologies like drip and sprinkler and also the cultivation of ID crops has been identified among the villagers and felicitated on the eve of World water day for his untiring efforts. The mini kit entry of Sesamum, green gram and drumseeder and broadcasted paddy fields were monitored and necessary suggestions were suggested to the farmers.The Sarpanch Sri B. Komaraiah, Agricultural extension officer Sri Katam Raju and around 50 farmers participated in the programme duly following the corona precautions.
