  • Regional Agricultural Research Station, Polasa, Jagtial organized training programme on “Preparedness for rabi” to the farmers of adopted village, Veldurthi on 02.12.22.
  • The meeting was started with the welcome address by Dr. D. A. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Agril. Economics) and in-charge of adopted village and she has given brief introduction of the programme.
  • Dr. G. Sreenivas, ADR, RARS, Polasa, Jagtial addressed the gathering by creating awareness on “Importance of soil health management” and urged the farmers to reduce the fertilizer usage in cultivation of crops.
  • Dr. B. Srinivas, Scientist (Plant Breeding) explained about the “Cold management practices in Paddy”, Dr. A. Krishna Chaithanya, Scientist (Soil Science & Agril. Chemistry) enlightened about the “Soil test based recommended fertilizers usage in different crops”, Dr. S. Omprakash, Scientist (Entomology), briefed about “Pest management practices in different crops”, Dr. N. Balram, Scientist (Pl. Pathology) explained about “Disease management practices in different crops” and Dr. D. A. Rajini Devi, Scientist (Agril. Economics) spoke about “Emerging trends in agricultural marketing”.
  • Sri. Manichander, Regional Area Manager, FMC India Pvt. Ltd. explained about FMC products, their dosage and time of applications. He also suggested the farmers to go for need based applications of total portfolio of different crops for targeted pest and diseases.
  • Later, visited kitchen garden and turmeric fields of K. Ramkishan, progressive farmer, Veldurthi.
  • With this training programme, 50 No. of farmers were benefitted.
