Agricultural Research Station Karimnagar has organized Frontline Demonstration on Weed Management in Zero Tillage Maize at Kurmapally Village of Raikal Mandal of Jagtial District on 21 st November, 2022

Frontline Demonstration on Weed Management in Zero Tillage Maize was organized by Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar at Kurmapally Village of Raikal Mandal of Jagtial District on 21st November, 2022 with the financial assistance of All India Coordinated Maize Improvement Project. Dr.P.Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.) has welcomed all the dignitaries and farmers and briefed the major theme of organizing the meeting. He detailed the major concept behind zero tillage maize, significance of weed and water management aspects. Dr.D.Sravani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) has explained the characters of the different hybrids released from the Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar and good agricultural practices for reaping higher benefits in maize crop. Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) has informed the pests and diseases incidence and their control measures especially Fall Army Worm management strategies. Pre-emergence herbicides, Atrataf (500 g) and Paraquat (1 litre) have been given to the interested 25 farmers involved in the cultivation of zero tillage maize. All the information pertaining to farmer’s name, farmer’s father’s name, Aadhar card numbers, Pass book Xerox has been collected from the selected 25 farmers. The farmers have been encouraged to make Youtube subscriptions for PJTSAU Agricultural Videos for knowing the latest technologies and timely need based agricultural activities in various crops. The Village Sarpanch, Sri. Mekala Sumalatha Rayamallu, Upasarpanch, Sri Pulla Mallesham, Ward Member, Adi Anjaiah, Agricultural Extension Officer, Smt. Sumalatha, Progressive farmers, Sri. Shankar, Sri. Mallesham and around 50 farmers have participated in the programme.
