ARS, Karimnagar organized Awareness Programme on Rabi Maize Production Technologies and Distribution of Inputs on 21 st December, 2023.

Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Awareness Programme on Good agriculture practices for Rabi maize production and distributed inputs to the farmers of Nagulamallial, Kondapur and Baddipalli villages of Kothapally mandal of Karimnagar District on 21st December, 2023. With the collaboration of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University and financial assistance from All India Coordinated Research Project on Maize under National Food Security Mission front line demonstrations on weed management in maize crop. The Tembotrione 115 ml and Atrazine 500g were distributed to the farmers as post emergence herbicide. The Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head Dr. G. Manjulatha, ARS, Karimnagar addressed the gathering and briefed the management strategies for zero tillage technology in maize. Later, in the technical session, Dr. G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) detailed the hybrid seed production technology in maize. Dr.P.Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.) explained about the weed and water management practices in Rabi maize and Dr.M. Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Plant Pathology), explained about integrated pest and disease management in maize. Tembotrione 115 ml and Atrazine 500g were distributed to 38 farmers. The Mandal Agricultural Officer Sri Ranjith has encouraged the farmers to follow the proper management practices timely and maintain weed free crops for obtaining better returns. Around 62 farmers from Nagulamallial, Kondapur and Baddipalli villages of Kothapally mandal of Karimnagar District, Agricultural Extension Officer Sri Lalitha, Ward member Sri. Kunta Anjaiah have participated in the programme.
