Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Awareness Programme on Kisan Sarathi, Distribution of Minikits and Visit to Mustard Field at Adopted Village Nagulamallial of Kothapally Mandal of Karimnagar District on 28 th November, 2022.

Awareness Programme on Kisan Sarathi, Distribution of Paddy and Maize Minikits and Visit to Mustard Field was organized by Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar at Adopted Village Nagulamallial of Kothapally Mandal of Karimnagar District on 28th November, 2022. Dr.G.Usharani Scientist (Pl.Br.) and Adopted Village Incharge has welcomed all the dignitaries on to the dias and addressed regarding the characters of the maize minikits, KNMH-4191 from Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar; DHM-182 and DHM-206 from Maize Research Centre, Rajendranagar and detailed the good agricultural practices, pest and disease management that are to be followed for reaping higher yields for the farmers. Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy, Coordinator, DAATTC has provided awareness on the theme of Kisan Sarathi and the various means of its usefulness to the farmers and provided the toll free numbers 14426 and 18001232175 for dialing and expressing the problems faced by the farmers in their fields and obtaining solutions readily. He also informed the characteristics of the paddy minikits viz., JGL 28639 from Regional Agricultural Research Station, Jagtial, WGL-1246 and WGL-1119 from Regional Agricultural Research Station, Warangal, KPS-6251 from Agricultural Research Station, Kampasagar, RDR-1162 from Regional Sugarcane and Rice Research Station, Rudrur and encouraged the farmers to subscribe PJTSAU Youtube Channel for receiving the latest updates and recent technologies on farming. Dr.M.Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop Protection) addressed the farmers on the measures to be taken for cold management in paddy nurseries and suggested to go for spraying of zinc sulphate 2g/lt in cases of zinc deficiency while transplanting paddy nurseries. FMC Company Staff, Sri. J.Venkateshwarlu, Sales Ignition Officer, has explained the various products viz., Legend, Zinatra, Coragen, Corprima, Ferterra, Marshal and Nutromax and explained about their usage, dosage and activity in paddy and maize crops and demonstrated in few of the farmer’s fields. Later, field visit of the farmer, Lakkakula Mohan Rao sown with NRCH-B-101 mustard variety distributed under frontline demonstration and observed good germination of the crop without any pest and disease incidence. RAWEP students of Adopted Village, Mandal Agricultural Officer, Sri. Ranjith Kumar, Village Sarpanch, Sri. Nayani Prasad, Village Panchayat Secretary, Smt. D.Sushmitha, FMC Staff, Sri. Naresh (Marketing Development Officer) and around 53 farmers participated in the programme.
