Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized awareness and demonstration programme on cold management in paddy nursery at Adopted Village, Perkapally on 16th December, 2020

An awareness and demonstration programme on cold management in paddy nursery was organized at Adopted Village, Perkapally of Saidapur Mandal on 16th December, 2020 in the field of Sri. Chintham Yadagiri who has sown the nursery for 2 acres. Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Plant Breeding) and Adopted Village Incharge welcomed the gathering of farmers and briefed about the suitable rabi paddy varieties. Dr. E. Rajanikanth, Scientist (Agronomy) addressed the farmers regarding rabi paddy nursery management package of practices and the precautions to be taken up in the nursery to overcome the prevailing cold conditions. A demonstration was shown on how to cover the paddy nursery with a polythene cover during evening hours and to be removed during day time. It was also suggested to remove the water from the nursery in the evening and to let water into nursery in the next morning. The Sarpanch Sri. B. Komaraiah and around 50 farmers participated in the village and clarified their queries on several issues of crop management in various crops.
