ARS and DAATTC, Karimnagar organized Awareness and Demonstration on AWD in paddy and awareness programme on Integrated Pest Management in Redgram at Nagulamallial village on 12-01-2023

Awareness and Demonstration on AWD in paddy and Awareness Programme on Integrated Pest Management in Redgram were organized by Agricultural Research Station and DAATTC, Karimnagar at Nagulamallial village of Kothapally mandal of Karimnagar district on January, 12th, 2023. Dr. G. Usharani Scientist (Plant Breeding) and Adopted Village Incharge has welcomed the dignitaries onto the dias and briefed the recently released high yielding varieties of redgram and good agricultural practices for reaping higher yields in redgram crop. Dr.P.Madhukar Rao has detailed the farmers on the weed and fertilizer management aspects in paddy. Dr. M. Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop Protection), DAATTC, Karimnagar has enlightened the farmers with integrated pest and disease management in redgram crop. The Padmapani Foundation Cluster Coordinator, Sri Madhukar Reddy has explained the AWD in paddy and encouraged the farmers to implement them in their farms such that the Foundation provides Rs.800 annually to each farmer for one acre for implementing this technology in their farms.. The Mustard field of Lakkakula Mohan Rao sown with NRCH-B -101 variety which is at pod hardening stage was also visited. The paddy field of Katla Rayamallu was also monitored and diagnosed Stem Borer problem in paddy for which spraying of Cartap Hydrochloride 400g/acre was suggested. The Village Sarpanch, Field Coordinator of Padmapani Foundation, Srimathi Archana and around 45 farmers have participated in the programme.
