Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized awareness programme on minikits and conducted field day on FMC products at adopted village Perkapally of Saidapur Mandal, Karimnagar district on April 7th, 2022. Dr.G.Usharani welcomed the dignitaries on to the dias. Dr. G. Manjulatha, Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head, sensitized the farmers to go for crop rotation, protect the soil health with integrated nutrient and pest management and to go for implementation of latest technologies in their crop fields. Dr. K.Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist (TOT) explained the characters of minikits RNR 29325 paddy from Rajendranagar and DHM-182 maize hybrid from Maize Research Centre, Rajendranagar. Dr. P.Madhukar, Scientist (Agro.) described the latest varieties released from the University. Smt. Anjani, ADA, Huzurabad encouraged the farmers to adopt new technologies in their cultivation aspects to have overall economic development in their livelihood. Smt.Vaidehi, Mandal Agricultural Officer has suggested the farmers to transform themselves as Scientists at field level with the adoption of latest technologies and cultivation of new varieties and hybrids. The FMC firm Area Marketing Manager Sri. Manichander has detailed the products, usage and dosage and suggested the farmers to go for need based usage. Coragen for nursery 10ml @1 ac nursery and panicle emergency 60ml/ac (40+ 65 DAT), 2nd phase stem borer control (white ear heads), Ferterra 1st phase of stem borer control (dead hearts) 4kg per ac, Legend seed treatment (4grams per 10kg seed) for better seed germination & yield increase at panicle emergence (48grams/ac) as replacement for Potash, Marshal for gallmidge (best chemical in nursery (40ml per pump) and main field at 15 to 45 DAT (400ml/ac), Talstar for leaf folder - 15 to 45 DAT (330ml per ac), Cilpyrox for sheath blight -15 to 45 DAT (150ml/ ac). The demonstration plot of one acre in the field of Sri Potharaju Srinivas with the usage of FMC products versus control beside were visited and found the treated plot in good condition, without any chaffy grains or white ears as compared to the control. Later, the demonstration plots of minikits, RNR 29325 paddy in the field of P.Shankaraiah and P. Lachchaiah and DHM-182 maize in the field of Chiramshetti Govardhan and Potharaju Suresh have been visited and their feedback on the minikits were taken. Diagnostic field visits in paddy, maize and green gram have been taken up and the need based suggestions given to the farmers for the infested pests and diseases. The panicle mite infestation in paddy was observed and spraying Dicofol @ 5ml or Spiromesifen @ 1 ml twice in an interval of 15 days and poison bait application for Fall Army Worm infestation in maize was suggested as spraying is not possible in the 80 days crop and spraying Coragen and 19:19:19 combination for pod borer control in green gram was suggested. The MPTC, Sri. Jella Mallesham, AEO, Sri. Vamshi, FMC firm staff, Sales Coordinator, Sri. Madhukar Reddy, Sales Executive, Sri. Raju and around 70 farmers participated in the programme.
