Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Training programme on Role of ICT Tools in Pest and Disease Management of Crops in Adopted Village, Perkapally on 5th November, 2020

Training programme on Role of ICT Tools in Pest and Disease Management of Crops was organized by Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar on 5th November, 2020 at Gram Panchayat Office in the Adopted Village, Perkapally of Saidapur mandal. Dr. G.Manjulatha, Principal Scientist and Head, Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar welcomed the gathering and gave a brief introduction on kharif crop condition and forthcoming rabi crop planning. The chief guest, Dr. R.Uma Reddy, Associate Director of Research, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Jagtial addressed the gathering and discussed critical interventions for rabi season and also to go for various alternate irrigated dry crops such as groundnut, jowar, mustard, bengal gram suitable for rabi, management of paddy nursery under cold conditions, zinc application for rabi paddy, etc. and motivated the farmers to visit the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Jagtial to get updated with the recently developed technologies and adjacent districts of Warangal and Nizamabad. Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) and adopted village incharge gave a brief summary of the activities that have been carried from the beginning of adopting the village. Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy, Scientist (TOT), DAATTC, Karimnagar gave a detailed description of the mobile apps and gave hands on training to the farmers on the mobile apps of the University and encouraged to download Youtube channel of PJTSAU, AKPS, Umang and Plantix which aptly serve the immediate need of the farming community during the pandemic covid-19 situations. The Mandal Agricultural Officer Smt. Vaidehi addressed the farmers gathering regarding the precautions to be followed during the paddy seed sale by the farmers. The Agricultural Extension Officer Sri. Katam Raju, Sarpanch Sri. B.Komaraiah, Deputy Sarpanch Sri. Potharaju Srinivas and around 50 farmers participated in the programme and interacted with the scientists regarding cultivation aspects of crops pertaining to the forthcoming rabi season.
