Field day on cotton pink boll worm management, farmer scientist interaction, distribution of frontline demonstration of sesame Jagtial Til -1 and field visit to mustard crop were conducted on the eve of National Farmer’s Day (Kisan Diwas) at Nagulamallial Village of Kothapally Mandal of Karimnagar District on 23rd December, 2022. Dr.G.Usharani Scientist (Pl.Br.) and Adopted Village Incharge has welcomed all the dignitaries on to the dias. Dr.G.Manjulatha, Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head, conveyed the wishes on the eve of farmers’s day (Kisan Diwas) and the essence of Farmer’s Day on 23rd December and sensitized the farmers towards adopting recent technologies like cultivating latest varieties, improved package of practices in rabi, mechanization, crop residue management and encouraged them to form into Farmer Producer Organizations from their village. Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy, Coordinator, DAATTC has encouraged the farmers to adopt latest varieties released by PJTSAU and suggested the farmers to incorporate the cotton crop with cotton shredder or rotavator and take up sesamum crop after cotton. Also informed the Kisan Sarathi toll free numbers 14426 and 18001232175 for dialing and expressing the problems faced by the farmers in their fields and conveyed to subscribe the PJTSAU Agricultural Videos for receiving latest updates in various crops. Dr. M.Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Path) has explained all the package of practices of pink boll worm management aspects to be followed in cotton. As a part of the Field day on cotton pink boll worm management in the field of Smt. Balavva who has implemented all the technologies put forth by DAATTC, Karimnagar, she expressed that following the integrated package of practices, two sprayings were reduced than the other farmers. Dr.P.Madhukar, Scientist (Agro.) detailed the house on different methods of paddy cultivation and good management practices. Dr.G.Usharani Scientist (Pl.Br.) has discussed the latest hybrids of maize and integrated fall army worm management in maize. Farmer Scientist interaction was then taken up on various pests and disease management in various crops. Then, sesamum Jagtial Til-1 seed has been distributed to the farmers under front line demonstrations. Later, field visit of the farmer, Lakkakula Mohan Rao sown with NRCH-B-101 mustard variety distributed under frontline demonstration was visited and observed incidence of aphids and suggested spraying of Acephate @ 1.5g/litre. The Mandal Agricultural Officer Sri. Ranjith has detailed the existing programmes of the Department of Agriculture. Sri. P. Rajkumar, Marketing Coordinator, FMC Company has explained the various products viz., Legend, Zinatra, Coragen, Talstar, Corprima, Ferterra, Marshal and Nutromax and explained about their usage, dosage and activity in paddy and maize crops. The Village Sarpanch, Sri. Nayani Prasad, Rythu Samanvaya Samithi Convenor, Sri. G.Chandraiah, Ward Members,Sri. K.Anjaiah, G.Suvarna, K.Latha, Cooption Member, Sri Naini Shankar and FMC Staff, Sri. Naresh (Marketing Development Officer) and around 75 farmers participated in the programme.
