Awareness Programme on “Preparedness for Yasangi, 2023” and Field Diagnostic Visit in Adopted Village Nagulamallial of Kothapally of Karimnagar District on 17th October, 2023 was organized by Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar. Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) and Adopted Village Incharge welcomed all the dignitaries on to the dias and detailed the millets cultivation and informed the recently released varieties and hybrids in maize, millets and oilseed crops. Dr. G. Manjulatha, Principal Scientist and Head enlightened the farmers on the need for crop diversification, crop rotation, zero tillage in maize and also on the cropping pattern that is practicably possible for the farmers. Dr. A. Vijaya Bhaskar Senior Scientist (Pl. Path.) briefed the farmers on the pest and disease management in pulse, oil seed and cotton crops. Later Dr. K. Madan Mohan Reddy, Coordinator DAATTC, Karimnagar has sensitized the farmers on paddy package of practices, recently released varieties and role of ICT tools in agriculture. Sarpanch Sri. Naini Prasad also encouraged the farmers to include ID crops in their cropping pattern rather than cultivating paddy solely. Coromandel International Limited Staff Marketing Manager Sri Rajesh and Agronomist Sri Prudvi has explained the farmers about the different products, usage, dosage, etc and their usefulness in crops. They have also encouraged the farmers by distributing Safety Kits, Rain Coats and T shirts of the firm for the farmers adopting latest technologies. Later, a diagnostic field visit to the cotton field has been attended in the field of Boini Srinivas and observed mealy bugs, sucking pests and leaf spots for which necessary control measures were suggested. The Agricultural Extension Officer Sri Lalitha, Coromandel Staff Sri Anil and Sri Prem along with 52 farmers have participated in the programme.
