Agricultural Research Station and DAATTC Karimnagar organized Participatory Rural Appraisal and Bench Mark Survey at Adopted Village, Nagulamallial of Kothapally Mandal on 28 th September, 2022

Participatory Rural Appraisal and Bench Mark Survey were organized at Adopted Village, Nagulamallial of Kothapally Mandal of Karimnagar District on 28th September, 2022. Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) is a methodological approach that is used to enable farmers to analyse their own situation and to develop a common perspective on natural resource management and agriculture at village level. It is conducted for identifying the problems for prioritization in the village itself with social map, resource map, time line, wealth ranking map, seasonal analysis and venn diagram. It is an assessment and learning process that empowers farmers to create the information base they need for participatory planning and action. Outsiders contribute facilitation skills and external information and opinions. As a part of Bench Mark Survey, the preliminary information was collected from majority of the farmers about the village, social and economic status, livelihood means, cropping pattern, seasonal conditions, etc. Participatory Rural Appraisal was also conducted at Narsingapur Village of Boinpally Mandal of Rajanna Siricilla District. In this programme, Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy, Coordinator DAATTC, Dr.G.Usharani Scientist (Pl.Br.), Dr. M.Rajendra Prasad Scientist (Crop Protection), RAWEP students under DAATTC Karimnagar, Mandal Agricultural Officer, Sri. Ranjith, Village Sarrpanch, Sri. Nayani Prasad and 50 farmers participated at Nagulamallial of Kothapally Mandal of Karimnagar District.
