Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Training Programme on Maize Production technologies with special emphasis on Speciality corns cultivation and Input Distribution under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan on 7th February, 2022. Dr. D.Sravani, Scientist (Pl.Br.) welcomed the dignitaries on the dias and briefed the initiatives behind the SC Sub Plan. The Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head Dr. G. Manjulatha, ARS, Karimnagar briefed the research, teaching and extension mandate of PJTSAU and research station activities carried out at Agricultural Research Station and hybrids released from the research station. District Agriculture Officer, Sri. Sridhar emphasized the farmers to go for monthly earning just as we spend monthly by implementing farming system and crop diversification and obtaining higher income per unit of land available with them. Project Director, ATMA, Smt. Priyadarshini, said that they will take up demonstrations in the farmer’s fields and encourage the farmers to go for crop diversification. Later, in the technical session, the flagship programmes of the University was explained by DAATTC Coordinator Sri Shekar, Maize Production technologies by Sri. P. Madhukar, Scientist (Agro.) and Speciality Corns Cultivation by Dr. G. Usharani, Scientist (Pl..Br.). In the programme, the maize hybrid seed, Karimnagar Makka-1,along with tarpaulins were distributed to the SC farmers. Around 100 farmers from Baddepalli village of Kothapally mandal, Gopalpur and Irukulla villages of Karimnagar mandal and Katkur village of Akkannapeta mandal of Siddipet district participated in the programme and made it a great success duly following all the covid pandemic guidelines.
