Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Training Programme on Good agriculture practices for Rabi maize production and distribution of inputs to the SC farmers of Balaliah Pally village of Thimmapur mandal, Karimnagar District. Dr.D.Sravani, Scientist (Plant Breeding) welcomed the dignitaries on the Dias. Inaugural session began with university song. The Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head Dr. G. Manjulatha, ARS, Karimnagar addressed the gathering and briefed the research, teaching and extension mandate of PJTSAU and research station activities carried out at Agricultural Research Station and hybrids released from the research station. Later, in the technical session, Dr.P.Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.) explained the Rabi maize management practices, Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br) explained Specialty Corns Cultivation and Dr. D. Sravani, Scientist (Plant Breeding)) explained about characters of maize hybrids released from PJTSAU. District Agriculture Officer representative Smt. Anjani, Karimnagar advised the farmers to go for fertilizers application as recommended dose and explained about harmful effects of excessive application of fertilizers. Sri. B. Srinivas, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Manakondoor advised the farmers to go for crop diversification and advised to utilize the Karimnagar makka-1 seed and Tarpaulin in efficient manner. Sri.Surendar Naik, Agriculture officer , Smt.Swathi, Horticulture Officer, Sri. Swamy, AEO, Village sarpanch , Smt. Ganemma, MPTC, Smt.Padma and about 95 village farmers participated in this programme. Inputs Karimnagar makka-1 seed and Tarpaulin distributed to 55 beneficiaries.
