ARS, Karimnagar organized Training Programme on Best management practices in Rabi maize cultivation practices and input distribution to the farmers on 29-10-2024 under NFSM- FLDs

Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Training Programme on “Best management practices in Rabi maize and distribution of inputs to the farmers of Kasimpeta, Paruvella villages of Ganneruvaram mandal, Karimnagar District under NFSM-FLDs of AICRP on maize, ICAR-IIMR, Ludhiana. Dr.P.Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.), AICRP on Maize addressed the gathering and briefed the main moto of National food security mission (NFSM) , front line demonstration allotted under AICRP on Maize. Later, in the technical session, Dr.A.Vijaya Bhaskar , Senior Scientist (Pl.Path), explained about fall army worm management practices. Dr.P.Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.) explained about good agricultural practices in Rabi maize cultivation. The inputs were distributed for 250 farmers for an area of 250 acres under NFSM FLDs sponsored by ICAR-IIMR. Smt. Kiranmai, Mandal Agriculture Officer, Ganneruvaram mandal, advised the farmers to utilize the Karimnagar makka, Karimnagar makka-1 seed and weedicides Atrazine and Mesotrione + Atrazine in efficient manner. Smt.Anusha, AEO, Ganneruvaram mandal and about 250 farmers participated in this programme. Maize hybrid seed (Karimnagar makka, Karimnagar makka-1,) 8kg, Atrazine 1 kg, Mesotrione + Atrazine @1400ml per acre per farmer were distributed.
