Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Training Programme on Zero tillage maize management practices and distribution of inputs to the SC farmers of Gumlapur, Katnapalli, Chityalapalli and Mallannapalli villages of Choppadandi mandal, Karimnagar District under SCSP sub plan of AICRP on maize, ICAR-IIMR, Ludhiana. The Principal Scientist (Agro.) and Head Dr. G. Manjulatha, ARS, Karimnagar addressed the gathering and briefed the research activities carried out at Agricultural Research Station , hybrids released from the research station and about how to carryout maize sowing in zero tillage fields, mechanization in maize . Later, in the technical session, Dr.A.Vijaya Bhaskar , Senior Scientist (Pl.Path), explained about fall army worm management practices. Dr.P.Madhukar Rao, Scientist (Agro.) explained about weed and nutrient management in zero tillage maize, Dr.G.Usharani, Scientist (Pl.Br) explained about hybrid seed production in maize and Dr. D. Sravani, Scientist (Plant Breeding)) explained about characters of maize hybrids released from PJTSAU, Dr.K.Madan Mohan Reddy explained about Scope for value addition in maize. Dr.M.Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop protection), explained about late wilt management in maize. District Agriculture Officer, Karimnagar representative Smt. Anjani, advised the farmers to utilize the Karimnagar makka-1 seed and Tarpaulin in efficient manner. PD, ATMA representative Smt. B.Sravanti , Smt.Sai prasanna, AEO, Choppadandi mandal and about 55 farmers participated in this programme. Inputs Karimnagar makka-1 seed and Tarpaulin distributed to 55 beneficiaries.
