Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar organized Vanakalam Preparedness meeting at Adopted Village, Nagulamallial of Kothapally mandal of Karimnagar district on May, 17th, 2023

Vanakalam Preparedness meeting was organized by Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar at Adopted Village, Nagulamallial of Kothapally mandal of Karimnagar district on May, 17th, 2023. Dr. G. Usharani Scientist (Plant Breeding) and Adopted Village Incharge has welcomed the dignitaries onto the dias and briefed the recently released high yielding varieties suitable for vanakalam of prominent crops of the village and good agricultural practices for reaping higher yields. The farmers were also informed to attend Seed Mela scheduled on May, 24th, 2023 at various Research Stations of Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University and procure quality seed for reaping higher benefits. Interested farmers were also conveyed to procure maize and redgram seed from Agricultural Research Station, Karimnagar on that day. Dr.P.Madhukar Rao has sensitized the farmers on the significance of green manure crops in agriculture and their management aspects for increasing the soil fertility and also for efficient usage of fertilizers. Dr. M. Rajendra Prasad, Scientist (Crop Protection), DAATTC, Karimnagar has enlightened the farmers with the importance of seed treatment for overcoming initial pest and disease attacks and also the various mechanisms of seed treatment in different crops. The Mandal Agricultural Officer, Sri. Ranjith has informed the farmers that 65% subsidy is available on dhaincha green manure seed at DCMS and all the farmers should avail this facility for maintaining soil fertility and decrease the usage of chemical fertilizers. The Agricultural Extension Officer, Sri. Lalitha, Village Sarpanch, Sri. Nayani Prasad, Upasarpanch, Sri. Ullandula Anil, Ward Member, Sri. Nagesh, RAWEP Students and around 55 farmers participated in the programme.
