Vana Mahotsav programme organized on 12.08.2024 at Agricultural Research Station, Madhira, Khammam District.

ARS, Madhira organized Vana Mahosthav-2024 on 12-08-2024. In this programme Dr.K.Rukmini Devi, Principal Scientist (Br.) & Head explained about the importance of Vanamahosthavam. This programme was initiated in the year 1950, the main objective of this programme is planting of trees in fields, private, public compounds, along road sides and to achieve the environmental/ecological balance by extending the area under tree planting and to decrease the global warming. In this programme various plant species which have shading and bio aesthetic value such as Gliricidia, Spanish (Pogada), Soap nut, Wood apple and Plumerias (Deva ganneru ) were planted by all teaching, non teaching, out sourcing staff and APT, Students at office premises and Hostels
